SOCIAL STUDIES In this present age of jet transportation and rapidly chang- ing world events, social studies have become a highly im- portant part of the school ' s curriculum. Four credits in social studies are required, two of which must be in American His- tory. Students are urged to have at least six credits. The num- ber of varied and challenging courses available to the student include Community Civics, World History, Geography, Amer- ican History, Economics, International Relations, Sociology, and Advanced Civics. A boy who plans to farm for a living will find excellent train- ing and experience in the Agricultural Department. The student is required to have a farm program consisting of a small acre- age of grain or one or more animals of any class of live- stock. The Home Economics Department provides excellent training for the homemakers of tomorrov r. The program consists of a one semester general course, two semesters of foods and three semesters of clothing. Family living is an elective for junior and senior girls who are interested in improving good family relations in their homes.
