ENGLISH English is one of the most important subjects on the student ' s schedule. No matter what vocation he plans to enter, his com- mand of written and spoken English will be of unlimited value to him. To provide the maximum of help for all students, the work is taught on varied ' levels. Students are placed according to their abilities either in college preparatory courses or in courses which are chiefly remedial. The over-all program con- sists of functional grammar, usage, punctuation, vocabulary, spelling, writing and literature. Though four years of English are offered, only three are required.
