With sailing as one of her favorite sports. Ranch spends much of her time on Norwegian waters. FOREIGN EXCHANGE STUDENT From the fiords of Norway to PCHS. This describes Randi Sanden, our exchange student. Sent here from her home town of Moide, Norway, through the A.F.S., she has completed more than ten years of study at Norwegian schools where she studied algebra, physics, and French. The year she spends at Pekin High will count in her schooling. Between her six days of school in Norway, Randi enjoys such sports as swimming and sailing. In the winter her family goes to their mountain hut, where they enjoy mountain climbing and skiing. Her town is a tourist attraction and is called the town of roses. Norwegian girls are liked because of their friendliness, and this holds true for Randi. She likes Pekin High, but admits it is easy compared to the harder Norwegian schools. While in Pekin, Randi stayed with the Hilton Johnson family of Audobon Drive. Fro ?t Row: Marlene Strauch (Brazil), Gloria Selebistky (Argentina), Randi Sanden (Norway), Els von Northeim (Netherlands). Back Row: Chalo Gonsalez (Chili), Youchel Arat (Turkey), Dina Hellman (Belgium), Unidentified student (Chili), Bill Sudow from Richwoods.

t, .. J l An Expression of the Self . . . BAND— The Pekin High Band has proved itself to be a very versatile group of musicians. The group plays marches, popular music, and concert music. The marching band, along with the ma- jorettes, go to the Argo game and march at all home football games. The band marches in precise and interesting formations. During the pep rallies and home basketball games, the band plays popu- lar music. The Dance band, comprised of mem- bers of the larger band, play at the after-game dances. The band gives Winter and Spring Con- certs for the public and presents an enjoyable auditorium program for the students and faculty. The band meets and practices during the first hour every day. Mr. Lawrence Fogelberg, with the help of assistant director, Mr. Ronald Benner, makes it possible for Pekin to enjoy this fine group of student musicians. 26
