VARSITY DEBATE — Front Row: Kenneth Search, Barbara Busse, John Nelson. B.uk Row: Mr. Floyd Dougherty, Ric Dancey. SPEECH DEPARTMENT The Speech Department, under the direction of Mr. Dougherty, is a member of the National Forensic League. Besides aiding students in ten individual events and three divisions of debate, the department broadcasts 120 radio shows a year. Students also furnish local organizations with about twenty-five club programs. Known through- out state and National competition, last year ' s speakers received twelve trophies and got second in state debate.
