Darrell Lacock l Bausch and Lomb Award Winner, Duane Dowell DAR Awards: Paula Gerspacher and Darrell Lacock H0 0lli A ll AWARD One of the greatest honors which can be achieved by any high school student is be- ing elected to the presidency of the Student Council. Last year, Darrell Lacock was chosen by the student body to assume the responsibilities of' this office. His outstand- ing leadership and personality have made this year's Student Council one of the most effective in the history of Pekin High. The Bausch and Lomb honorary science award was again presented to another deserving senior, Duane Dowell, who has maintained a five point aver- age in his high school science courses. This award enables Duane to compete for one of the three scholar- ships offered by the Bausch and Lomb Optical Com- pany. The two senior students selected to receive the DAR awards this year were Paula Gerspacher and Darrell Lacock. They were selected by the PCHS senior stu- dents and faculty on the basis of the following char- acteristics: service, leadership, courage, scholarship, dependability, and patriotism.
