General Manager XX From Mister to Maior and back again to civilian status in less than four years is the war-time record of Principal F. M. Peterson. Mr. Peterson became principal at Pekin Community High School in September of 1938. But his tenure here was temporarily interrupted when, as a member of the Ot'ficer's Reserve Corps, he was called into active duty with the Army Air Forces in the spring of 1942. He left Pekin High as a second lieutenant, but returned three and one-half years later, proudly displaying the gold leaves of a maior. In September of 1945, Peterson packed away his otticer's uniform beside his honor- able discharge, exchanged a military for a civilian title, donned civilian dress, and once again became the maior of this school.
