CLASS HISTORY 56 ln September 1952 we began our hlgh school career w1th 39 students spon sored by Mrs Mary Pal1ck1 and Mr Ray Kennedy We elected off1cers as follows Presxdent Allan Mart1n V1cePres1dent Thomas Gray Treas urer Joan Floyd and Secretary Sharon O Bryan We had two class part1es and went skatlng at Salem both t1mes Class colors were chosen to be red and wh1te classflower red and wh1te car natxon and motto Good Better Best never let It rest unt1l the Good 1S Better and the Better 1S Best ' Back 1n 1953 we began our Sophomore year Wlth 34 Ln number Our Presl 1dent Lloyd Markland Secretary Carmellta Myers and Treasurer Phylhs W1ngf1eld Mrs Mary Pal1ck1 and Mr R1chard Rushmg were our sponsors We had two class part1es and a hayr1de We began our Jumor year and lost two more classmates Our class offlcers were Presldent Sharon O'Bryan V1ce Pres1dent Don Thompson Secretary Lloyd Markland Treasurer Allan Martxn Th1s year our sponsors were Mr Kenneth Jones and Mrs Ehzabeth Speck We had two class part1es one at school and one at Kentucky State Fa1r Our magazme sales totaled S1 353 10 breakmg all prevxous re cords Backwoods Romeo was chosenas our class play presented on November 18 1954 On our .Tumor Semor Receptmn we hada f1ne meal at the Blue Boar Cafe 1n Lou1sv1lle and later went to the c1rcus In September of 1955 we began our fxnal year of h1gh school happy to welcome back as sponsors Mrs Mary Pal1ck1 and Mr Jones We chose as Pres1dent Jerry Hem V1ce Pres1dent Lloyd Markland Secretary Patr1c1a H1bbs and Treasurer Carmehta Myers Th1s year was full of hard work anx 1ety d1sappo1ntments but mostly full of co operat1on Wxth our hard work we planned two f1sh frys sold pop corn d11l p1ckles dlsh cloths everyday cards netted S125 O0 from Jumor and Semor Carm Fam1ly' a success and spent much tlme and energy on the 1956 Com mentator Our anx1ety was very great at t1mes almosttoo much to bear We recelved our class rmgs, p1ctures and an nouncements The Senxors were hon ored by a P T A party for them the Alumm Banquet Basketball Banquet and the Booster Tea for the gmrls Many d1sappo1ntments came through ouryears but we came through w1th flymg colors The Sen1or Tr1p Baccalaureate Com mencement and Semor Day Program would not have been lf everyone of the fznal 27 had not added thelr share to the memor1es we left at Pekm I-hgh School 1 I : ' .
