Treasurer We had as our sponsors agam thrs year Mrs Hllton and Mr Hrckman On March 13 1953 the Junlor class voted to change thelr class colors and flower Those chosen were purple and whrte for class colors and whrte roses for class flower Our class name was changed also from Hornets to Rai ders We lost seven valuable members thrs year Russell Gray Dorothy Hur st Ruth Voyles Charles Lockenor John Morrrs Dorothy Prather and Lew IS Woodward To brmg to a close a wonderful year we took the Senrors to Scottsburg for drnner and then to Loursvllle to the Memorral Audrtorxum to see Benny Goodman and hrs orchestra for the J unror Semor Receptlon The year of all years came at last' This year we started out wrth 27 members ln our class garnrng Mary Bateman from Scottsburg We carefully selected our offrcers for they had an lmportant Job ahead We chose Dale Marshall Presrdent Bob Floyd VICC Presrdent Glenn Camp bell Treasurer Wanda Voyles Secretary As our sponsors we chose Mrs Hllton and our new coach Mr Lantls Durlng the year we lost Lmda Purlee and Ivan McK1nney and later Mary Bateman who returned to Scottsburg We went to the Salem Roller Rrnk on our class party On May 9 a happy group of 24 Senrors gathered together rn the school gymnasrum for our Baccalaureate exercrse We had as our speaker Rev H W Bentley from Plrst Baptrst Church Salem On Frrday the 14th of May we left for our Semor trrp to New York Crty After a wonderful 5 day tr-rp we arrrved back home on Wednesday We revrewed our trrp on the Semor Class Day Thursday the 20th We spent the rest of our tlme awartmg our Commencement exercrse On Frlday nrght May 21 we assembled agam rn the gym of the Pekln Hrgh School for the Commencement exerclse We had as our speaker Rev Merrrll McFall of Bloornrngton and we recerved our long awarted drplomas We want to thank our beloved parents faculty and frrends for makrng our hlgh school days most pleasant and profltable We shall never forget such thrngs as our Jumor
