DEDICATIGN T , , -..MA Virgie Smith-Class of 1950 This year our class has done something un- precedented in the history of our school. We have dedicated our annual to one of our class members. Several years ago, when she was a little girl, Virgie Smith was stricken with polio. Since the disease has left her she has been compelled to walk with the aid of crutches. However, she has turned what might have been a severe detriment into a source of in- spiration and an example to others. We all have handicaps, most of them with- in ourselves. They are our attitudes toward life and our ability to work and co-operate Virgie is an example of what with other-s. courage, faith in man and God, cheerfulness and self-reliance can do in overcoming our handicaps and bringing happiness to Our- selves and others. Virgie has been very active in school af- fairs and has distinguished herself with many personal achievements. She has been a great asset to our community and school. Therefore we are proud and lucky that she is a member of the class of 1950.
