On Armistice Day the choral gvouo sang scxcral songs and other special numbers. The Vliristmas Uperetta, Why the Chimes Rang, coneisted of a small group of High School Lew lil:uikm-iilmaki-i'. students and two grade students, Allen Mar- tin and Mickey Ooley. The Chorus sang during the program. The groups takes great pride in presenting their spring Operetta, The Bells of Beau- ioulaisf' which takes place in an Island off the coast of Normandy. 550

BAND At the beginning of the year, sixteen stu- dents joined the band. Fifteen members were in the band last year: Irma Losson being the only new member. We elected for our officers: David Koltenbah, presidentg Faye Lewis, vice-president: Sue Dennis, sec- retary - treasurer: and Christina Fisher, reporter. Among the activities in which we partici- pated were the intramural tourney, com- mencement exercises, the junior and senior plays and the operetta. This year marks a great milestone in the history of the Pekin High School Band in that we recieved new uniforms. They are a royal blue trimmed in gold. The uniforms were financed from school activities with as- sistance from the alumni. To Mr. Oldridge for his superb leadership, the alumni for helping to provide our uni- forms, and to our loyal su 1 porters the people of the community, we extend our sincere thanks for helping us to make our band a success.
