There were twelve girls and four boys in our class. They were Lois Rice, Juanita Brachtenbach, Helen Haag, Twlla Oliverius, Loretta May Hammock, Sandra Deveroux, Jim Johnson, Carolyn lilleford, Joyce Gage, Nancy Pittington, Darlene Fehringer, Betty Helbert, Edward Fehringer, Nicky Norton, Melvin Fehringer, and Patty Stewart Miss Trout had to put up with our ignorance during our first two years in school. Ie, in the first grade, were in the operetta, 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.' This took most of the time from school, which we all thought was a great deal of fun. We thought we were big now because we were giving an operetta. le were all lucky enough to be promoted to the second gra e. Roland Sohilz joined us during our second year. l out three days after our second year ended our school house burned down. Our third year was spent in the Ayle building and Mrs. Wolf was our teacher. Joyce Gage left us and we gained Edmond Hegarty during our third year in school. Our fourth year started in the new school building. Marilyn Olsen, Dick Stewart, and Mary Jo Palmer joined us and we lost Roland Schilz and Betty Helbert. We enjoyed this year very much. Miss Briedenbach was our teacher. In the fifth grade Larry Slaymaker joined A us. Ie had a very happy time in a room by ourselves this year. Mrs. lhitemore was our teacher. In our sixth year Mrs. Bryan became our teacher. During this year we gained Don lieser. We were in the operetta, 'In the Land of Dreams Come True' during this year in school. A few members of our class were fortunate enough to get main parts in it. Starting our ju ior-high years we were joined by Jim Wells. As seventh raders, we shared the thrill with the eighth grade of giving the operetta iTom 8awyer'. This was very interesting and required a great deal of skill from both the actors and the director, Mrs. Mclaughton, our music teacher. Irs. Fullen was our teacher during the seventh and eighth grade years. Jim McGill joined us in the eighth grade. This year some of us received 'F's' in citizenship for shooting spit-wads. One recess period some of our classmates informed us that the bell that had just rang was not our bell. le hurried back to the playground and were excitedly playing again when Mrs. Fullen came out to see why we hadn't come in. We told her it wasn't our fault as we had been misled, le walked in feeling rather funny and all the other pupils laughed at us. Ie graduated in 1950 with seventeen members: Juanita Brachtenbach, Darlene Fehringer, Twila Oliverius, Carolyn lilleford, Lois Rice, Helen Haag, Nancy Pittington, Marilyn Olsen, Mary Jo Palmer, Jim Johnson, Edward Fehringer, Don lieser, Melvin Fehringer, Larry Slaymaker, Nicky Norton, Jim Wells, and Jim McGill. Carolyn was valedictorian and Darlene was salutatoris . As green freshman we were joined by Betty Sperry and Don Fogale. We came through initiation with flying colors and acquired the knack of high school studying. In our second year in high school Larry Slaymaker left us and Charlotte Thomas joined us making a total of nineteen. le lost Mary Jo Palmer and Charlotte Thomas. During our junior year we put o our junior class play 'Hillbilly Weddin' and purchased our class rings. le took great pleasure in putting on the prom and banquet for the seniors. In our last and final year of school we lost Nancy Pittington and Marilyn Olsen. le have had many good times in our years together and will graduate with fifteen members. They are: Juanita Brachtenbach, Darlene Fehringer, Twila Oliverius, Melvin Fehringer, Helen Haag, Edward Fehringer, Betty Sperry, Don Iieser, Jim Wells, Carolyn lilleford, Jim McGill, Lois Rice, Jim Johnson, Don Fogale, and Nicky Norton. Upon arriving we began to think that the name NMcG1llU sounded familiar. We inquired and were taken to the president's office. Soon the door to the president's office opened, and who should appear but Mr. James I.McGill, one of our high school classmates! He recognized us right away and invited us in- to his office for a chat. He told us of his marriage to a model and of their five children, Marilyn, Veronica, Matilda, Gertrude, and little James Jr. Our conversation revolved around the good times we had in old Peetz High School. Jim offered to take us up for a demonstration flight in a new and different type of jet to see our old high school classmates. We decided for our first jaunt to fly to the swamps of Louisiana. This took us fifteen minutes, and we had the pleasure of seeing the former Juanita Brachtenbach now married to Lee Hadden. Lee has made the army his career and is an instructor at Camp Polk, Louisiana. We landed at a near by airport and rented a car to go look Juanita up. We saw a woman hanging clothes on a line, so we stopped to see if she could direct us to the home of the Hadden's. When we got closer she reminded us of one of our classmates. Sure enough it was Nita. She told us they were the proud parents of a baby girl. After a short visit with her we went back to the airport and returned the plane to James McGill. We were convinced that the jet was not the plane for us, and planned to continue our trip with our old Lincoln. Our next stop was Chicago. When we had seen all the sights we decided to take in a movie. We saw in an advertisement that there would be a premier showing of nTex Gonquers the Westn and decided to see it. They introduced the star, and who do you think it was? No one but our former classmate, Tex Fogale from Kennesaw Valley. His movie was such a success and he was so busy writing autographs that we couldn't get close to him so we left. While in Chicago we visited the airport and watched the planes land. A large plane came in at 6:05 P.M. and after all the passengers were off the stewardess descended. We knew her right away as Darlene Fehringer. She in- vited us to her apartment, but it was impossible to permit. We drove Darlene to her apartment. On the thieves who had stolen a car. We were taken cleared by a prominent woman detective, Lois spectable citizens of Peetz, Colorado. We left Chicago to come back to the Rocky Mountains. On our arrival we saw someone starting to climb a mountain, so we looked through our binoculars and saw Helen Maag. We yelled at her and she came to talk to us. She said she was a geologist and she had married a geologist from her class in C.U. They now had two little mountain climbers. We went back to Sterling and stopped at the Commercial Savings Bank to de- posit some money and who should we see but Twila Oliverius. We talked to her for awhile but did not went to the Malt Shop, a very familiar person appeared, Jim Wells. from the Malt Shop and they now own it. He warned us never to hunt rabbits at night again. He said he was married and living in Sterling. We came to town and saw Melvin Fehringer, a state Senator. He said he was on a vacation and staying at his father's house in town. While we were in Peetz we stopped at the home of our former classmate, Betty Sperry, who is new married to Arlo Segelke.
