Smith, W. Garrett. M. The 1950 track team wound up their campaign fairly well, with four wins and two defeats. They also placed second in the annual Hudson River League meet at Depew Park and third in the county sectionals at White Plains. The Red Devils were not too strong in the sprinter's division, but came through especially well in the distance department. Peterson, I. Vinci. the Hudson River League half-mile record with a time of two minutes, one and five-tenths seconds. Ray Smith also took a first place for the Red Devils in the quarter-mile. lim Brillinger starred in the pole vault for Peekskill and placed second in the HRL. Other outstanding performers on the track team were Tiny Fullenweicler, Vic Richardson, Henry Dabbs, Bill Peterson, Neil Snowden, Tom Garrett and Billy Garrett. Markoii, Mr. Buckton. The Bed Devil netmen can be proud of their record for 1950 because they were the only P.H.S. team to take a HRL crown. The netmen finished with a 9 win-to-l loss record for the campaign and a 6 and 0 record in the league. Peekskill won over all its league opponents: Hastings, North Tarrytown and Ossining, plus two over the Sailors from Henhud and one over Croton. The only loss suffered was to Peekskill Military Academy. Mr. Buckton was so well pleased with his team that he gave out letters to all those who took part in the matches. The outstanding players were Gene Weinger, Norty Schneps, Bill Kessler, Iohnny Moyna- han, Bonnie Ganeles, Al Markoff, and Pete Gardi- neer.

Lent, V. Zeoli, R. Finnegan. E. Burns, R. Pelaia, S. Agosta, C. Volkmann. Standing: I. Kiss- For the first time in several years a new coach appeared on the diamond in 1950 for the Red Devils. He is Mr. Le Boeuf, our physics teacher. Mr. Le Boeuf replaced Mr. Devins, who had been coach since the end of the war. The team finished the season with nine wins, six defeats and one tie. The most thrilling of the nine victories was the 5-4 triumph over the Authors of W.I. at Tarrytown. While a steady rain came down, the Devils came from behind to pull the game out of the fire as Mike Naardone clouted a home run and Oscar Iohannes slammed a rousing triple over the center fielder's head to clinch the victory. Corozine, M. Scaramellino. K. Bell, I. Travis, G. Adams. Peekskill High School's 1950 I.V. baseball squad against Ossining High with a score of l-l. Peekskill's had a fair record. They ended the season with six other games were played against St. Ioseph's Home, wins, three defeats and one tie. The Iunior Varsity Hendrick Hudson, North Tarrytown and P.M.A. also had a new coach in Mr. Moser, a former varsity Most of the players on the, Iunior Varsity were shortstop at Gettysburg College.
