Graulich, The Peekskill High School Concert Orchestra. under the baton of Mr. Frank I, Konnerth, is one of the largest instrumental organizations in the school. It meets twice a week during class periods and once a week during the eighth period. The group rehearses and plays music of the world's finest composers. This year the Orchestra has continued to maintain the fine standard set in preceding years. D. Bensky, R. Weiss, E. Bennett, A. Franchi, I. Weaver, P. Schnell, S, Wells, V. Odell, E. Conklin. 4th: D. Ciocchi, P. Pappas, D. Loshin, R. Fullenweider, I. Calabrese, C. Fullenweider, R. Renza, V. Corozine, A. Baisley, W. Buchanan, B. Yudowitz, T. Stapi, R. Scalzo. E. Stems, W, Ellis. Last: R. Adams, C. Craig, M. L, Donly. The activities of this musical group were numerous this year. It took part in the Ioint Concert in February and the annual Music Festival in May, it supplied music for dramatic productions and special assem- blies, and it ushered in the Senior Class with Pomp and Circumstance at the Commencement exercises. As an extra social activity, the Orchestra goes on its annual outing in Iune. INSTRUMENTAL ENSEMBLE i,,' . Seated: I. Carter, R, Lloyd, B. Gordon, H. Cozzi, H. Scheiber. Standing: R. The Instrumental Ensemble is the honor society of Peekskill High School musicians. This privileged group is made up of first seat instru- mentalists, and often plays for local service clubs and community projects. They rehearse twice a week, once after school, and play for their own enjoyment. This organization is very highly thought of among the music groups of Peekskill High School. 69

B. Eberle, I. Graulich, C. Aflron, The Dramatics Club was organized this year under the leadership of its new adviser, Mr. Baptiste. The club again proved a magnet for a large number of students who are interested in the theater and in show business. For its spring production the club produced an all-star revue entitled April in New York . A musical and dramatic tour of the big city. the show served as an appropriate showcase for the best talent of the school. There were many colorful, musical production numbers, ln-fJ7 I. Marer, I. Manthey, E, Scalzo, E. Travis, Mr. Baptiste, M. Chalumeau, L. Lautman, M. Campbell, P. Ventry. such as Forty-second Street, At the Club Ver- sailles, and The Lullaby of Broadway. Scenes from great plays and other specialties rounded out the program. We shouldn't forget Monster Rally which was a hit. April in New York was just the vehicle for a balmy spring evening. The officers for the year were: President, Marcia Williams: Vice-President, Eileen Stems: Secretary, Armenoosh Casparian: Treasurer, Marie Colao. On May 29, 1951 the P. H. S. Debate Club presented the Di Rubbo Follies of 1951. The picture shows one of the scenes in a Dutch garden.

Spottswood. A group of students who help to pep up the school with their swing-and-sway is the Peekskill High Dance Band. The band is com- posed of members who enjoy playing popular music. For many years they have pla at home games and have provided a li touch to the tenseness that is prevalen all these contests.
