The main function of the Estate is to promote journalistic activities in the school and plan social functions which will add a light touch to the tedious work involved in student journalism. Every year a select group is chosen from the Fourth Estate to put out the Mercury-The P.H.S. newspaper. Last fall, Mr. Gallagher, who had been advising this group for three years, was forced for reasons of health to give up newspaper work. Mr. Williams took over the duties for the rest of the year. Besides the usual mimeographed issues, the Mercury Staff also published a sixteen page printed Christmas issue which was well received by the students and faculty of P.H.S. 67
