JUNIOR VARSITY BASKETBALL R.. 'N row: F. Reif, L. Kapian, G. Smith, E, Lois, A. Poritzky, C. Badger, R. Pelaia. Peekskill High School's junior varsity basketball squad finished the season with a record of five wins and eleven defeats for 1950-51. Although they lost eleven games the Devils gained lots of experience and developed their basketball ability a great deal. The Red Devils' five victories came over Arlington, Ossining, North Tarrytown and Washington Irving twice. They dropped very close games to Newburgh, Arlington, Ossining and two to the Sailors of HenHud. Mainstays on the Red Devil cage squad were George Smith, Nat Ziolkowski, Charlie Badger, Gene Lois, Mike Bottas, Bubby Shaw and Ralph Pelaia. CHEERLEADERS Front: Co-captains P. Cunane, B. Field. Peekski1l's quintet started 1950 - 1951 ' playing together as sophomores on the I. V. team. In their junior year they were together on the varsity squad but finished poorly that year with four wins and fourteen defeats.
