SENICDR CLASS HISTORY Only twenty-five of us now in the senior class have weathered the storms of Peddie for four years, but those twenty-five have taught the new- comers the tricks and traditions of The Old Gold and Blue, so that all of us are now men of Peddie . Uur memories ofdays spenton jersey's southward plain are many - some include fellow students now gone: Alan Blankfield, Charlie Carlton, Jim Cleary, Frank Cronin - but most are of those who have made the Senior Class stand out in the last four years. We well remember those who gained recognition of our class's worth in the battle with the books, we recall those who have played for Peddie's teams, and we remember the leaders of Peddie's publications and activi- ties. Back in the first few days after our birth, our class began to show off its brain power. We had more than our share of honor students - Steve Clark, Charlie Cohan, Mike Flicker, and Clyde Holt. As our numbers increased, so too did the number in our class receiving honors. Cy Todd appeared on the scene to tell us about rocketry, and Steve Clark stuck around telling us about everything. Last year jack Herrity pulled his in- famous 99 in Spanish, and last year too, we first ran into the College Boards. The Boards proved what everyone had suspected for four years - our class is one of the best that ever passed through Peddie. We had already proved that we have some of the best athletes in the annals of our school. In Freshman year Lee Vulgaris and Phil Pullen starred on the third form football team while making ready for their varsity careers. jim Hicks, Dave Ogden, and Bill 'Rose pushed the Frosh- Soph soccer team to an undefeated season. Mike Flicker represented our class in wrestling, winning a state championship. In the spring, Connie Decker drove the golf team on to one of its ex- cellent seasons. In sophomore year, we sent four men up to varsity soccer: Hicks, Ogden, Rose, and Larry Robinson. Lance Hopkins fremember him?J played varsity football. Brant Duffy dove well, Tim Keller joined Mike on the wrestling team, and Decker showed up again for golf. Last year we practically took over varsity football, sending in A1 Carpenter, Phil Pullen, Lee Vul- garis, and Dave Lawless, who were assisted by Flicker, U1Mantia and Waddell. Tony Hicks and joe Fell ran cross country. Tony and Lee played varsity basketball, while Brant kept the board bouncing. jack Herrity and john Clough comple- mented the wrestling team, and Mike Horowitz manifested his power in the weight lifting club. Tony Hicks joined Connie on the links, while Bernie Campbell threw some hot ones on the diamond. This year, we carried our seniority into all the sports. Sports occupied our afternoons, but activities
