OFFICFRS 1-J CONTINUING the record started four years ago, the Senior Class one of the largest in recent years, has been working especially hard to gain recognition over the previous gradu ating classes. The present overcrowd ing of colleges and the stiff competi tion for entrance have placed academic work foremost in the life of a senior The granting of late lights, inaugu rated last year, has been a great help to all seniors. A good percentage of the boys in the school who received hrst or second honors were seniors. Among these were Rogers Elliot, Jr., Francis V. Bielski, james Vose, Jack A. Monk- man, William H. Cheney, Martin C. Battestin, Thomas L. Masters, Fred S. Anderson, Robert L. Porter, and A1- bert Reinfeld. CLASS Many members of the class played on the various varsity teams Some of the more outstanding athletes have been Townsend W Oliver Nicholas M Schloeder William T Hostetter Charles A Geran and james W Brown Keeping up its past record the class supported almost all of the schools extracurricular organizations The class officers were as follows Martin C Battestin president Townsend W Oliver vice president and N Reeves Little secretary treasurer Mr Tim mons has been the class adviser By its excellent record the class of 1948 can consider itself vvell prepared for college and later life. 1
