BETA CLUB The National' Beta Club at Pebblebrook is set up and operated to promote the American way of life among the students. Its sole purpose is to cooperate with the administration of the school, in Forwarding the school program in scholastic achieve- ment and character building, toward cul- tivating a serious desire For the higher things of life. The purpose is to enable the faculty of each school to give recognition to out- standing youth, and through this recogni- tion, open the way to deeper obiectives. Membership is open to iuniors and seniors in high school. The criteria by which mem- bers are chosen for the National Honor Society is a combination ofscholarship with good citizenship, qualities of leadership, service, and character. The grade average requirement is B . T Membership in the Honor Societies is a valued and precious thing. lt is a badge of honor--a testament to fine work and fine personal qualities--not only in the stu- dents own school and community, but across the land.

To encourage students to accept res- ponsibility of leadership willingly and enthusiastically. No Queen, l don't think a full-size model of the Titanic would be a good project for the Student Council,
