VVe like to feel that we have tried our best and accomplished quite a lot. Perhaps our greatest downfall was our inability to work as a group until this year. It is a proud thing to be able to say that we feel that we have finally became uonef, Since the lowly grade seven we have been pushing steadily ahead. The seventh and eighth grades were mainly years of be- coming adjusted to the change of growing into big kidsf, The highlight of these two years was our eighth grade graduation dance, our first big dance as a class! Our freshman year was a faltering one, and there was no class dance. There has been a highly successful dance every year since then, howeverg we had the best Senior Ball yet. Our junior trip to Albany was one of our biggest group events, but the XVashington trip was by far the thing that will be out- standing in our memories for years to come. Here we discovered how many wonderful classmates we had. The class of ,58 extends its best wishes to all the senior classes to come at P.R,H.S. We hope they will never forget the great school to which we all belong. A. Bohnel, Tobin, K. Olcsnn. Standing. E. Cooper. In the interim came the Sophomore Hop and this yearis suc- cessful Iunior Prom, which was based on the Oriental theme, Sayonara. A large percentage of the class partici- pated in sports and extracuiricular activi- ties. Many sold coffee after school to raise money for the Prom. The class benefited greatly from the trip to see the state capital. The class of ,59 Was right on its toes to assure prompt de- livery of its class rings. An admirable combination of school, scholastic, and class spirit forms the intri- cate binding force of this year's junior class. fI'UllSlll'l'l'j I. liofzncl, presirlent. 34 J Uclrznxsf, .-Xznlvm-mz, C. The Freshman Frolie, after being postponed from F ehruary to April, was a success. Money was raised by collecting fines for gum Chewing and hy selling soda at basketball games. YVith entertainment supplied by members of the class, a cheer- ful atmosphere prevailed at the dance. The freshmen have enough money left for a good start in their activities next year. Kinley, A. BOYS, LEADERS' CLUB Although, in the absence of Mr. Talaska, the Boys, Leaders, Club did not function as usual, some of our outstanding athletes did participate as cheerleaders at the Father-Son basketball game. However, at their request, this picture remains un- identified. 52 GIRLS, LEADERS, CLUB Throughout the soccer, hockey, basketball and volleyball seasons the Girls, Leaders' Club has sponsored many interscholastic games and par- ticipated in still others. During the spring when individual sports such as archery and badminton are prac- ticed, the flexible organization read- ily drops the fouls of basketball for the birds of badminton. The GO. also sponsored the Queen of Hearts dance in February. A big project was successfully accomplished when the GO. organized the community service day. Many members of the student body helped to make this one of the best student projects ever attempted. This year the GO. has tried to have as much participation as possible. A community bulletin board to in- terest as many students as possible in GO. activities was created. These large scale at- tempts at community betterment have been highly successful. Seated: H. They most certainly left lasting, lively pic- tures of their countries in Pearl lliverg it was hoped by all at P.R.H.S. that they received as Wonderful an impression of the United States from this communitv. ' 1 Aura Cularte, who returned from Guatemala with Judy Fredericks, a junior, has given the students of P.R.H.S. a vivid picture of her country by doing native dances and attending numerous school and community functions.
