eh 2 enlor ass Uiiluers SENIOR CLASS OFFICERS Left to Rlght Frances Zabel Secretary, Wlllxam Herr mann, President, Gerald Holstein Vice Presxdent, Herbert Johns, Treasurer Class History This year, the year of mneteen hundred and forty five, saw a sad and reluctant yet a hopeful and ex pectant senlor class leave P R H S It was a class which had felt the stmg of war through the loss of many of :ts classmates a class which was leavxng a world of comparatxve safety and darly routine to enter one of chaos and perplexxty and a class whxch looked baclr longmgly to Its first glimpse of hxgh school life four years ago We entered our freshman year full of energy and revolutionary ideas, which ended xn an afternoon dance a few months later As sophomores we realized that there was more to hxgh school than clubs, dances, and football games for the first time we started studying ln earnest In fact we studied so hard, and so long that we found no time for extra-curricular actwxtxes as a class Once full-fledged juniors however, we made up for lost time In addxtion to the Jumor Prom, which was a huge success, we gave many other dances and a movxe Fmally came our last, our semor year We made many plans, but time flew so quickly and pleasantly that somehow there wasnt enough of xt to enable us to see the fulfillment of all our plans We did however accomplish a great deal Among other thmgs we held ontlme dances gave assemblxes, kept the 'Pirate ahve planned a yearbook, and all m all myected a new feelmg of enthusxasm and school spxnt whlch m the past few years had been sadly and notxceably absent unto the rooms and corndors of old Pearl Rxver High And now, were separatmg, each of us going has own way, some to college, some to Jobs, and some into the service of our country We want to take thxs, possxbly our last opportunity, to thank our teachers for thexr help, advice, patience, and eHort m helping to prepare us for the future.
