WILKENS I-IE Germania Verein's main activities of the year were a bike to hook mountain, an initiation party and a trip to Union City, New Jersey, to see a German film, They also composed a constitution written entirely in German. 22 HE General Organization is a student governing body consisting of repre- sentatives from each class in the high school. Its purpose is to serve the student body by aiding any group which needs its help, For instance, the G. O. provides the letters for the athletic groups and helps other groups fi- nancially such as the honor society and boys' and girls' Hi-Y. The G. O. sets the traffic rules and chooses the judges for the traffic court. They serve the student body in any matter which comes to their at- tention. Its purpose is to create enthusiasm for scholarship, promote leadership, and develop character. Throughout the year the Honor Society gives various awards to deserving students. 23 HE Traffic Court is made up of four seniors of which three act as judges and the fourth as court clerk The judges preside over cases brought in bv the Traffic Squad for violations of the traffic rules. The judges deal out punishments according to the misdemeanor while the court clerk records all cases for future reference. The club was organized to produce plays, two One-act plays and one major production each year. The members direct their own oneeact plays which are presented formally in the auditorium. ONE MAD NIGHT , a mystery-farce in three acts, the major produce tion, was presented in the high school auditorium on February 27 and 28, I94I. Thomas Griffith and Olympia Vergin had the leads and were ably sup- ported by the other members of the cast. Stage sets were designed and erected by Miss Eva B. Crabtree and the Art Department. K I W Y FIELD HOCKEY HORSEBACK RIDING 35 HIS year's baseball team will be made up ot eight regular varsity players from last year and only one newcomer The season has only started, and though the tirst game was lost to Piermont, we are still in there fighting for the championship. WYMAN HE soccer team lost their first two games against Piermont and Spring Valley. Then after tying with Stony Point, they lost a close one to Nyack, Haverstraw was upset by the Pirates in the next game, and although they lost to Congers, they played their best game ot the season. The Championship Congers team expected to run away with their final game, but it was a bitterly fought contest and Pearl River was in the game till the end, showing prom- ise of a good team next year. 36 FTER losing their first game to Westwood 26 to 6, the football team play- ed their only night game of the season against Spring Valley and al- though just a few breaks would have pulled the game out of the fire, they ended up on the short end of a 6 to O score. The Park Ridge team was no better than ours, but they managed to get the pigskin over the last white' line, and again P. R. lost 6 to O. L. champions won the next game 25 to O, In the final game, Nyack won in the last minute when they scored another goal making the score l3 to 7.
