Crunch . . . Remember the day the tree came tumbling down . . . There ' s no doubt Kelly McKenzie will not forget it, be- cause the tree was sandwiched right on top of her Cougar. Gusty winds and a decaying oak limb played hav- oc on her mode of travel. Kelly (left) was obviously upset about the entire situation as she talks with a friend and a PRC security officer. A BLUE RIBBON . . . PRC participated in the Pearl River County Fair and won a Blue Ribbon for its presentation. The booth depicted the River Magic.

Scrub, Scrub, Scrub Do we scrub it or do we rub it was the question facing the Phi Theta Kappa early in the fall semester, as they worked to earn money for coming activities Outreach ' 80 Harvest, a contemporary gospel group, sang for PRC students on the grounds in front of the Student Cen- ter as a part of BSU ' s week of Reach- Out 80. A whole week of rivals and other activities were sponsored by the local BSU chapter.

Red Cross Drive Nets 59 Pints Marion Hall provided the setting for 79 students, faculty, staff, and supporters of Pearl River College who gathered throughout the day to donate blood for the Gulf Coast Regional Red Cross Chapter. Although 79 persons stopped by to pledge their blood, only 59 pints were actually ac- cepted by the chapter. The blood drive was sponsored by the Pearl River Junior College Nursing Depart- ment, under the direction of Mrs. Charlotte Odom and The Dixie Drawl. The blood was distributed for use between 60 hospitals throughout the Gulf Coast re- gion to help hospitals curb their ever present need for the life-saving fluid. The Red Cross has set a goal of collecting at least 275 pints of blood each day to meet the needs of our Southern area. They hope that when the Blood Mobile returns to the Pearl River campus second semester that many more people will find time to donate. Boots and cowboy hats were certainly the Tn Fad ' back in the fall. Here a PRC student 30 is his ability to ride a mechanical bull at Tal ' s Corral in Hattieburg.
