Boo! Ghost, Goblins, and Uglies Overrun PRC Food, fun, and games were available for all to enjoy at the Pearl River Junior College Halloween Carnival held October 30 in Shivers Gym. Sponsored by SPARC, the carnival was kicked off with hamburgers sizzled on an open grill with four crackling bon fires setting the mood for the evening. As dusk crept upon the River campus, goblins, werewolves, black cats, and spooks began to come out of the woodwork. Many organizations displayed their Halloween spirit in booths such as Go Fishing by the Drama Club, Sponge Throw , Phi Theta Kappa; Cake Roulette and The Hitching Post by Phi Beta Lambda. The Seven Wonders were conveyed by the Wesley Foundation, and a Basketball Throw was sponsored by the basketball team. Being a good sport, Coach Arban sat through many a pie in the face in the Pie Booth set up by the Dixie Drawl staff. The Afro-American Cultural Society sponsored the Baseball Throw and DECA made a splash at the car- nival with an icy cold Dunking Booth. Many a per- son chunked their change at the Coin Toss, also sponsored by DECA. The String of Pearls convinced many to trek their Cake Walk, while UICA spon- sored a mysterious Fortune Teller who told of riches, romance, and doom. Refreshments and candy were available from Phi Theta Kappa, Cosmetology, and Afro-American Cultural Society. Naughty ghouls and goblins were kept behind bars in the Jail — constructed by the Baptist Student Union.
