PE RL RIVER COLLEGE LIBRARY s3si8ilMlJtl9iM RL RIVER JUNIOR COLLEGE; OPLARVIL Misg rpp FOREWORD With another school year coming to a close, we pause to look back upon the friends and happiness we have had. This year has been one filled with many experiences which we shall never forget. The joys, die sorrows, the fun and hard work — these are all a part of our memories of the past year. It has been our purpose to create a yearbook which is truly representative of life on our campus. This book has caught glimpses here and tliere so that in years to come the activities of tliis school year will not be dimmed and will not fade from memory. In this 1961 Wildcat we have tried to preserve for you through pictures these memories of PRC. DEDICATION It is with deepest appreciation that we, the 1961 Wildcat Staff, dedicate this volume to one who has given seventeen years of his life to make Pearl River Junior College a safer school for those who have elected to come this way. He has been a friend to everyone and has always promoted school spirit. In an humble effort to show our apprecia- tion, we dedicate this 1961 Wildcat to ROB SMITH. I ) f I ; MESSAGE , I know tliat all of the students and teachers join me in expressing our ap- preciation to those who have made available to us this Yearbook. It is a pleasure for me to have the privilege of knowing the fine young ladies and men who come to Pearl River Junior College each year. I shall keep this Yearbook as a pleasant reminder of a happy year with the fine young people of this school. G. H. JOHNSTON BOARD OF TRUSTEES Inman C. Their 9-1 seasonal record enabled the Wildcats to repeat for the second straight year as State Champions. Their third victory in the Hospitality Bowl brought the trophy back to stay at PRC. Northwest was favored to win the contest, and at half- time the score was 33 to 27 in favor of Northwest. But PRC rallied in the second half to build up a 14 point lead. Then the breaks seemed to go against PRC. Two of the starters fouled out. PRC ' s defense halted a Northwest rally and the score was 64 to 63 at the end of the game.
