Paul Henderson Early in the first semester the students of Vocational Agriculture and their instruc- tor, Mr. Harvey Price, re-organized the Pcarisburg Chapter of F.F.A. — the Future Farmers of America — and set up objectives for the year. The F.F.A. initiated into the club twenty-seven Green Hands. In January Mr. Ted Johnson came to the department as instructor and adviser to the Future Farmers. The objectives for the year are supervised and co-operative practice, community service, leadership, parliamentary procedure, thrift, recreation and scholarship. Miss Virginia Elmore The F.H.A. — the Future Homemakers of America — organized in 1946, has open membership for all girls who have had one year’s training in Home Economics. It devotes its time to the study of current problems in Home Economics and allied fields. The F.H.A. has as its main objectives the improvement of the school building and grounds and of the lunch rooms, helping with community service, the promotion of recreation in the home, school, community, and the attending of Morgans’ Beach Sum- mer Camp for the F.H.A. The Homemakers sponsored a Hallowe’en party for students of Pearisburg High School, and a tea with the supervisor of public schools as guest of honor, and carried local and state projects.
