-re nt OJi meS Chitter-chatten was heard throughout the campus as the graduates of 1 SB1 returned to visit with their classmates. As more and more of the graduates arrived, a panorama of fall colors burst upon the scene. The occasion might have been a fashion show, for the graduates displayed all the latest styles, not to mention all their school fads. This reunion found the girls catching up on the latest news: Are you still dating Wade? How do you like Chapel Hill? Isn ' t your hair longer? All these important conversations continued until the girls found themselves in a place that none had missed — the Peace cafeteria. As they tasted the delicacies placed before them, all the memories of Peace College meals floated back into their minds. One girl asked, Isn ' t the chicken better than usual? - fs.v friend answered, Yes, this time it tastes like chicken! Such a comment, of course, reflected all the good manners that she had acquired at Peace. After dinner, the graduates squealed with delight and anticipation to learn that they would now see a slide show of their graduation — thanks to Mr. King, who taped it on Peace ' s new color-video recorder. The girls found it hard to watch and talk at the same time. Oh, there ' s Mom with a rose in her hand and a tear in her eye. And, there ' s Dad; he looks sad and happy and proud, all at once. Is that a tiny tear in his eye? Has he just realized that his little girl has become a lovely young woman? There ' s my roommate; wonder if she still tapes that curler to her head each night before going to bed? Gee, did my hair really look like that? These slides were fun and brought back memories dear to the heart, a heart that whispered, No, I ' ll nev- er forget you. Peace Col- lege. I left you a part of me, and you gave me these memories to cherish forever. (D -1 - n (11 1 ej k »

Q ftld-Q e wi Q nxulne64 An eerie bo-o-o-o and a network of black and orange crepe paper set the scene for the annual Halloween dinner. Yes, the time of ghosts and goblins was upon us once again. As A e entered the Cafeteria door, we were enveloped by a feeling of dread and seriously considered splitting the scene, for the sights that caught our eyes were frightful! We all issued a sigh of relief when we realized that those frightful sights that scared us so badly were our own cafeteria staff led by that gum-chewing muscle man . Mr. Martin. The excitement grew as the night progressed: everyone was anxiously waiting for the big event — the costume contest! It certainly began with a bang as the cafeteria doors flew open and a herd of green-hooded creatures swept into the room. With something a little less than grace, they performed some sort of ceremonial dance, and then exited in the same style in which they entered. They won the contest hands down [mostly because the judges were scared not to give it to them!] Another popular spook that appeared in the contest was the Peace College airhead, and we all certainly related to that! The most frightening contestants to appear on stage were those three lecherous nuns who danced their way into our hearts. They were chosen as the most frightening because they scared the pants off the faculty! Halloween was not the only fright ening experience that plagued Peace College; another was the separated beam over the east side of the pool. The broken beam incident was met with some loud cheers and some tears: The freshmen applauded because they couldn ' t take the swimming test, and Mr. Lilley cried because of the extent Cand cost! of the damage. The pool area underwent extensive work throughout the semester, but the waiting was worth It. The new roof came equipped A ith a skylight which would not only conserve energy, but also looked great! Even Mr. Lilley smiled over the new roof Cbut wait till he sees the bill]. -
