Through our Student Govern- ment Association every student is given the opportunity to get involved and show an interest in the development of activities here on campus. Peace College is some- thing different to every student she enrolls. These two essential codes, working together, help to maintain the feeling of trust and honesty within our small Peace community. Even if you are not a great athlete, there is closeness, sportsmanship, and just plain enjoyment in getting together with friends. The Recreation Association plays a major part in Peace life, and the atmosphere of our campus is shown through its activities. President— Ellen Hawley Residents Hall Chairmen take on ever so many different shapes during the year. At the beginning we are hostesses, public relations people and not com- pletely trusted! As the year moves on and the new girls get to know us better, we become advisers, in- formation centers, and occasionally, disciplinarians. Things continue to progress and so do our roles. By now we have become weekly nuisances, informa- tion centers (still), and friends. That ' s right-finally they accept us as friends first and hall chairmen sec- ond. Looking back, I can remember thinking of my hall chairman as some kind of official ( big dog ); it took me a while to realize that she was just another girl, just another friend. WONDERFUL. Whenever anyone needs an encouraging word, a smile, or even a shoulder to cry on, Martha Jayne is there . . . ready and willing to help. She has carried many responsibilities this year, and through each of them, she has touched more people ' s lives and has brought sunshine into what may have seemed to be a drab day. Martha Jayne will stand out in our memories of Peace Col- lege because she has been a true friend to all of us.
