The monthly meetings include such varied activities as learning Spanish customs, songs, and dances, while sampling food. The club discusses the fu- ture and the problems of Spain and other Spanish- speaking countries. The Spanish Club affords an excellent opportunity to parallel the study of its language. Not all of the members of the Art Club are potential Rembrandts, but they all have an inter- est in art! Each year the club has a project to raise money. This year the members held a ba- zaar at Christmas. Every member contributed something she made to the sale. The only re- quirement for membership is enthusiastic origi- nality. cp4rt Club First row: E. Chesson, E. Barrier, J. Poster, P. Crossland, M. Brown. Second row: L. Gray, A. Rouzer, S. Norfleet, S. Members obtain a fuller understanding of the political positions of their country and a firmer foundation for their own political connections. The Young Republicans Club is composed of a group of Peace students whose political convic- tions tend to be like the convictions of the Re- publican Party of the United States. In campaign years the Young Republicans Club sometimes helps in the local headquarters of Republican nominees. In other years the club seeks to under- stand not only the Republican Party but also the policies of the present Administration. By under- standing the position America takes in world affairs, the Young Republicans gain spirit and sound basis for their political convictions. y oung, Jsfipubllcan Club First row: J. Morgan, L. Peace Colleg,e Ckoir The melodious voices of thirty girls in perfect tone and harmony form the Peace Choir. Sing- ing for chapel services, special programs, and civic clubs are just some of their duties. Christ- mas activities came to a climax with the Candle- light Service by the choir. The College Choir combined with that of the First Presbyterian Church for a radio-broadcasted Christmas service. In March the choir sang at the installation of the new president, Dr. David Frazier. This spring the choir gave a concert and assisted at graduation exercises. Under the direction of Mr. Raymond Kreiner, the choir combines talent with pleasure. How does one make a Home Ec Club? Stir the ingredients of home decorating, styling, groom- ing, cooking, and sewing in a large pot. Heat with enthusiasm until boiling. Add many girls and let mixture stand. The result is an active Home Ec Club. This year the club adopted two welfare projects. Dolls were dressed at Christmas for underprivileged children, and children were entertained in the Raleigh hospitals. The club adopted as its continuing project to explore the history of the furnishings of various college rooms and to make a permanent record of their findings. The Home Ec Club puts the emphasis on activity. Jionte tlconomicA Club I First row. T. Timberlake. J. Duncan, J. Harris, M. Holloman. Second row: B. Johnson, V. Daniels, B. Stanard, I. Stewart. K.
