Each of you have, by now. seen and read your 1963 Lotus. As you did so. it is my hope that ou realized the vast amount of work that went into its ])ulili(atiori. This Work was not done singiehandedh : it was the com- bined eff.irt of a hard working staff. We all owe a special thanks to Mrs. Randall and Miss Baucom. the staff advisors who shared with us their ideas and ex- perience. Nancy Coleman, assistant editor, deserves much credit for her many hours of work and vain at- tempts to keep my ideas within hounds! Barbara Jo EIrod and her assistant Pal Hall are responsible for this yearbo ik. for they made sure we had enough money to pay all those bills. .Sandra Moody was one of the most dedicated staff luembers. for she put up with me! She was always there to see that the photographers came and the pictures were made. .Martha Duller and her assistant Carolyn Fhtlie added extra beaut to the annual with their artistic abilities. Your class editors. Tricia Hatcher. Jessie Dixon. Jinx Mullen. Mar) Charles Wheless. Candi Caulk, and Eleanor Manning, made possible the correct naming and classification df (iu. the students and factulty. Mary Lib Holt contriliuted her talents in creative writing. Jo Anne Smith and Martha Sugg racked their brains for sports copv. as did Char- laine Garriett and LyI MacLean for the activities and Ilene Stewart. Susan Via. and (Jail Frank for organizations. Sandra Stephens. Mary Matthews, and Bev Coleman deserve thanks and a new set of hands after all the typing they did. Also thanks to Terrell Seawell. copy editor, whose |iroof reading saved r]iuch li dollars. Iiiue and many Other thanks, really special thanks, we extend to Harry Wooden, that bald headed gu with the camera. Mary Jo Hester. L. A. LiMitz. and Sinith Studios for giving us their time and photogra]ihic skills. We are particu- larU grateful to Mr. Jay Morgan and L nchburg Engrav- ing Co.. to Mr. Charles Smith and to Edwards and Hroughtori Printers for their extreme patience and co- o])eratiori. Thank ou. too. Alma, for making mv bed all tlio e mornings I rushed off to the publications room and all the girls at Dr. Prcssly ' s. for putting up with luy many moods and bir so often leiiding me .seven strong shoul- ders to cry on. The only thanks that the 196.5 LoTUS Staff asks of ou is that you enjo the memories we tried to present for ou in these on, hundred as we enjoyed presenting them. pne pages Most sincerely.
