Alumnae and trustee of Peace, Mrs. Mebane is vitally interested in education, main- taining scholarships in several outstanding colleges of the state and contributing to the school libraries of her county. One of the outstanding legislators in the state, she understands the needs of her fellow citizens and strives to serve them. Scattered all over the state are witnesses of her philanthrophy and interest in human welfare. Any one who has been associated with Mrs. Mebane knows the charming personality which makes her outstanding in social life. To Mrs. Mebane — educator, legislator, social leader, and philanthropist — the Senior class dedicates this, the 1932 volume of The Lotvs. Three liCAW C. L - ■•:tf ( ? . w n.s. She feels that her mission is not only the exposition of facts, bu the endeavor to give to us that aspect of the deeper and liner things acquired from her experience, which may be useful to us according to the measure of our appreciation.
