Dedication While dedicating a yearbook is a challenging task, we, the members of the Class of 1983 have an easier task than most. Our faculty of over one hundred teachers contains many who - because of their dedica- tion, committment, and energy - stand out. The Class of 1983 proudly dedicates this META to one such member of our faculty: Mr. Andrew Metropolis. Himself a graduate of the Seeglitz High School, he returned to teach in the Peabody High Social Studies Department after earning his Bachelor ' s Degree from Salem State College in 1969. He also holds a Master ' s Degree as well as many credits beyond. As a leader in the Social Studies Department, he has introduced several new courses. The History of Essex County is one of the high points of these new courses due to his own personal involvement and leadership in the Peabody Historical Society. A noted coin collector, Mr. Metropolis has brought parts of his collection to his classes, thus adding an extra dimension to the study of history. His extensive collection of World War Two memorabilia has also impressed many Peabody students. And so, Mr. Metropolis, for your dedication to teaching, your enthusiasm in working with students, your good humor and con- stant encouragement, we, the Class of 1983 gratefully dedicate this META to you.
