My dear Graduates: On this happy occasion of your graduation, I extend to you my sincere con- gratulations, thank you for your excellent cooperation during the past three years, and wish each of you a life that is rewarding and blessed with health and happiness. Your high school days have been provocative ones with the controversial Vietnam War and the national ills such as the energy crisis, food shortages, in- flationary living, unemployment, and unfortunately, a diminishing of spiritual values that followed it. A troubled world had a direct effect on your school life and, while some student bodies were not reacting responsibly to existing con- ditions, you admirably accepted the challenge and undertook the resulting res- ponsibilities in mature-like fashion. I am proud of you as a graduating class, and 1 know that in your present exal- tation you are aware that now, an even more challenging era presents itself, and upon your generation descends the solemn responsibility of alleviating your country and the world of their ills and the strident dissonance and discord so prevalent today. It is a serious but not frightening challenge that will require the constant utili- zation of your intelligence, courage, and a steadfastness in your determination to make this world of ours a better place in which to live for all its inhabitants of whatsoever creed, color, or origin. I am confident that your efforts in years to come will add to my existing pride in and respect for the Class of 1975. Sincerely, Pr incipal 19

For his ability to apply the wisdom of age to the many varied problems of youth; For his untiring efforts on behalf of that school of which he was, and still is, so much a part; For his years of dedicated service to the students of Peabody High School as educator, administrator and friend — We, the graduating class of 1975 gratefully dedicate our yearbook to Arthur V.
