My dear Graduates: On this happy occasion of your gradation, I extend to the class of 1974. my congratulations. Graduation from high school marks the termination of a most important cycle in the progress of your life, but simultaneously opens a new and often more challenging era. You are the first class in many to have had a year in which your country was not at war, but you are aware that people are not afford- ed the opportunity to rejoice in the peace and happiness that should ensue. Instead our country encounters ecological problems, energy crises, food shortage, infiationary living, and unfortunately, a diminishing of spiritual values. These are the ills from which we suffer, the cure of which is the challenge confronting your generation. It is a serious but not frighten- ing challenge that will demand an intelligent understanding of the necessity of spiritual values, a prudent establishing of priorities, and the determination and perserverance to improve the standard of living for all people and resultantly make this world a better place in which to live. 1 have the greatest confidence that you will intelligently face this challenge and in your dedication to your country and your fellow man, your efforts will bring about a medical, health, scientific and social era of progress in which people live peacefully and happily. May your future be rich and rewarding a nd blessed with health and happiness. Sincerely, Principal 4
