Roll up your pant legs And put on your bobby socks. Peabody is going back to the 50 ' s, Back to the Sock Hop. Roars of laughter rolled under the auditorium doors as selected” members of the Peabody faculty relived almost forgotten memories of the 50’s. Overaged boys greased their hair and pulled on dirty T -shirts and leather jackets as the girls dolled up in full skirts and oxfords. They performed 19 pop tunes from those Happy Days. SCHOOL DANCES BY RESERVED TICKET ONLY After school dances are a special event when the lights are turned down and very well dressed students get it off with their favorite music. A highlight of the evening is the crowning of the queen and king. Cameras are always flashing memories. I liked the Homecoming Dance. I danced nearly every dance because our boys aren ' t shy. They sold sodas, hot dogs, and cookies; I didn ' t buy any because they were priced too high. The one thing that I liked the least: it ended. Julie Holmes ACTIVITIES

WHY DID THEY DO IT? I enjoy making the students happy and exposing them to the different. J. B. Jones To help raise money for the school. D. Lemons I was drafted; I was literally forced. J. Evans In each different act or song there was a different feeling, mostly happy feelings. I really enjoyed being a part of the show. D. Lemons I wanted to be in an activity with the faculty. J. Williams I think some students may have resented teachers trying to act like teenagers. Perhaps the students could have done a better job, but that wasn ' t the purpose. We really wanted everyone to see the unity in our faculty. This same unity and friend- ship could and should carry over to the student body . P. Witt 93 ACTIVITIES
