STARRY STABRY NIGHT 1. Rodney Morgan and Amy Taylor thought they'd never finish hanging streamers. 2. Steven Meirowsky and Kathy Steele inspect the mirrored ball. 3. Danny Farr and Arlen Gfeller make sure everything's secure. 4. Danny Farr and Rick Cox add the finishing touches as Lyle Lepp- ke and David Martinez enjoy watching. 5. Cindy Strasser, Sarah Morgan, Carol Taylor, and Tracy Youngblood put up streamers. 6. Dan Pi land had the honors of installing the mirrored ball. The '77-'78 Prom theme was Starry Starry Night. The evening was an enjoy- able one with a gracious banquet and talented band. Fantasy was the band chosen to perform. Juniors had a tough time deciding which group to get, but finally chos ; Fantasy for their higher playing abil- ity. After the banquet Mrs. Arevalo,wife of the Burns Grade School Principal, sang some songs and play- ed her guitar. The dance lasted from 8:00 to 12:00. The movie started at one o'clock. The movie attended was presented at the Fox Theater in Newton. 12

1) Brad Nightengale and Rick Hedrick began their game with a leaping start. 2) The faculty team shows their enthusiasm as they rush down the court. The players pictured are Chuck Keeler, Roger Foote, Mr. Deutschendorf, Mr. Brown, Arlen Gfeller, Pierre Cubbage, and Mr. Egan. 3) Randy Taylor makes a fine shot to aid his team. The bowling team, (.pictured above) Rick Hedrick, Wayne Criger , Stuart Ratzloff, and Harold Brooks , competed in Salina this year. Rick Hedrick received third in Division II, and Wayne Criger placing third in 6th Division. A few of the students were lucky enough to get to go skiing this year. Pictured at the left are ; Stuart Ratzloff , Rick Hedrick, and Harold Brooks. It was more or less a leisure trip, since they had no competition. 11

PROM The Worlds Greatest Lover was the movie watched with one eye. The Juniors thought it best to cater the banquet this year. The caterers were from Augusta. For dinner: ham, scalloped pota- toes, corn, rolls and butter, and tea was served 1. Mrs. Arevalo, wife of the Burns Grade School principal, entertains throughout the banquet. 2. Scott Wilbur shows how easy it was to get down to the good music. 3. Mr. and Mrs. Patton chaper- oned the dance and also atten- ded the banquet along with the other teachers. 4. Quite a few of the guys wore tuxedos including Jeff Mel lot and Bruce Snelling. 5. Taffy Culbertson reflects on her past year at Peabody High School. 6. Everyone had a great time, especially Buddy Mayo dancing with all the girls. 15
