HIGH SCHOOL BAND They're Here! After a year of many money-making projects, such as serving the Memorial Day dinner, 4th of July Bingo, ice cream socials, and the sale of candles, potato chips, cushions, and Florida fruit, as well as many other projects, the new uniforms were actually here. After having blue uniforms for many years, the students voted that the new uniforms should be black. The marching uniforms can be seen on the decorative liner of the annual. By removing the overlay and the hat, and adding a black bow tie; the uniform can be transformed into a sharp looking concert uniform as can be seen in the band picture on this page. The new uniforms made their first public appearance, December 17, when the band director, Robert Marshall, and the Peabody-Burns High School Band pre- sented their Christmas concert, The Brighter Side of Christmas. The suc- cessful concert closed with a heart warming applause, and was followed by a reception in the band room so that everyone could have a closer look at the new uniforms. There were probably times when Mr. Marshall was discouraged, but through his enthusiasm for the project, his en- couragement to others who were ready to quit, and for his many hours of hard work, Mr. Marshall was able to accom- plish his goal, new band uniforms for the students at Peabody-Burns High School. For this we say, Thank you Mr. Marshall.
