gn T0 YOUTH lu the pages of this yearbook, we depict the edueational life of Youth in Preparation, 'l'od:ty's Youth must he regarded as a strong factor in molding future history. Present-day world conditions offer an unworded ehallenge to the coming gener- ation to succeed where its elders have failed: namely, to make this world an abode of peace and brotherly love and regard for one another. Our generatiou's way is plainly marked: first, to the hzittlefield and a sueeessful termination of the earth's conflicts, with young' eyes scanning' the seas, and strong hands at the controls in the skies, then to the peace table where youthful optimism and uninhibited foresight may find the means for Creating a genuinely lasting truce. Only hy that road can the young people of today find their ideal. The world which they will leave to the generations following them should he free of disastrous Conquest, free for zldvztneenient in science for the aid of mzinkiud, not for its destruction, Continued progress in social work, and advzinrement ii: the realms of art and literature. XXX-, therefore, declieate to YOUTH this rerord of the time they spent in PRlil'ARpYl'IUN. EDICATED 1 of Q 0 .. till N t st? tt, 6 Y ' 1 ' 8 f i

Br. Ben G. graham The students of Peabody High School suffered a great loss in the untimely passing of Dr. Ben G. Graham. Vile valued him as a real friend. The individual pupil had little opportunity to know this great American edu- cator but was aware of his strong leadership, progressive and efficient program, his national importance, and the breadth of his interests. We are proud of the school system which Dr. Graham so wis-ely administered for twelve years and believe that the fruits of his service will go on in the lives of thousands of boys and girls and me11 and women whose life plans he has helped to shape. 44' ' 8
