Jerry Bascom Diane Francom Homemaking Foreign Language X 153 HN Nt Ivy Francom Jay Isaac Social Science Science This year eight students were chosen by their teachers as Sterling Scholars to represent our school as our students who have excelled in certain areas of educa- tion. Each worked many extra hours to achieve this award and lost many hours of sleep studying and worrying about in- terviews. On March 26, these students went to Brigham Young University to compete with other scholars to become semifinalists. Jim Lowe was chosen to represent us in state competition in the area of industrial arts where he has achieved as a draftsman. The state com- peptition takes place at the University of Utah. It is a great challenge and an honor to be chosen as a Sterling Scholar. It takes not only ability but hours of study, deter- mination and initiative. This is only a small portion of the recognition that these scholars deserve for their achievements.
