' x I don't care what you say, I ain't going to no Preference BaIl.' I LOVE HOW YOU LOVE ME I'd ask him to go but he's too short. The Preference Ball was one of the brightest spots on the social calendar. The girls did not hesitate to get their dates for the dance which was one of the most outstanding dances of the year. For a few short hours custom was ignored and the girls showed the boys what they could do when given achance. Thetheme I Love How You Love Me was a great setting for the Preference Ball. According to tradition the girls selected the three most preferred men, one from each class. They selected Alan Carter, Alan Riley, and Kirk Horton. 145

Reigning over the Prom were: The Queen, Dianne Harmer, First Atten- dant, Sara Jane Clayson, and Second Attendant, Pam Ells- worth. The dance was exquisitely decorated and catered under the direction of the Junior Class officers. The Prom was highlighted by the promenade that was danced at ten o'clock. After which the Queen and King and their atten- dants were announced. Many parents and alumni attended to dance and to watch the promenade that was under the direction of Miss Clara Johnson. Refreshments were served by candlelight in the hall next to the cafeteria. This night will be remembered for many years by those who attended. I47
