The Preference Ball was one of the brightest spots on the social calendar. The girls did not hesitate to get their dates for the dance which was one of the most outstanding dances of the year. For a few short hours custom was ignored and the girls showed the boys what they could do when given achance. Thetheme I Love How You Love Me was a great setting for the Preference Ball. According to tradition the girls selected the three most preferred men, one from each class. They selected Alan Carter, Alan Riley, and Kirk Horton. 145
