As the dirt flew from beneath the track shoes this year, the Payson Lions showed that they were not going to be outmatched. We enioyed a very successful track season in 59. Coach Durrant began the season with few lettermen from the last year's squad. As the season progressed, the team developed into a well- coordinated unit. Payson won all duel and triangle meets in which they com- peted. ln the region meet we placed third and qualified five men for the state meet. Sophomores and Juniors returning next year should produce a worthy track team for Payson High School.

With their spirit and hustle, they should make a fine showing in this year's competition.
