The Payson High School Future Home- makers of America club has a membership of eighty girls. Officers of the club are: Lynn Harrner, president, Peggy Provst- gaard, vice-president, Linda Montague, sec- retary and treasurer, Kathleen Crane, his- torian, Kaye Wyler, reporter, and Deann Brereton, social chairman. Nlrs. Afton Oborn is the advisor. This year the Regional F. H. A. Con- vention vvas held in Payson with Joy Dial, F. H. A. state president, and Judy Harmon, state first vice-president, as special guests. In October the Candle Services and get acquainted party vvas held. December tvventyfthird came and the biggest event of the year came, the annual slumber party. Santa Claus came at midnight and gave a treat to all girls. In February the F.H.A. group sponsored a Record Hop, with Don Spain- hovver as disc iockey. This year's officers, along vvithl to Salt Lake to the State Convention over night. g Younger Than Springtime vvas was carefully outlined and arranged next year's officers and Mrs, Oborn, went in March. The Officers stayed in Salt Lake the theme for the Fashion Revue, which by the officers. The Canyon Party in May concluded lhe F. H. A. events of l959. avvard. A good band consists of a capable director, a Willing group of students, and the stamina to do a good iob. We feel that Payson High's band has all these qualities. Under the direction ot J. D. Christensen, the band started the year with a marching contest in Provo. Later on, a pep band played' at football and bas- ketball games. At Founder's Day they vvere also heard, and their help was greatly appreciated in the dance revue. In April, the band attended the Band Festival. Officers are: President, Raymond Hansen, Vice President, Garry Nelson, Secretary, Nancy Pulver, This group with the aid of Mr. Christensen have planned and carried out the main events of the year.
