A ,,,.......c,......-M22 Kiss me, my Sheik! Whatduyuh mean - give you a chance? The Whole To if Talking The Whole Town's Talking, was the speech department's first play of the year. This success- ful farce concerns the story of Henry Simmons' attempts to marry his daughter to his business partner, Chester Binney. Binney is a good bus- inessman but he was never the lover type. To convince Ethel that Chester had made many romantic conquests, they concocted a phony love affair between Chester and the movie star, Letty Lythe. All was going along smoothly when who should appear in town but Letty Lythe, complete with a iealous boyfriend, Donald Swift - a professional fighter. Through misunderstandings, unfortunate circumstances, and the prodding of Ethel's beau from Chicago, Roger Shields, action comes to a peak. A fight in the dark ends up with Chester saving himself by climbing atop the chandelier. S T 2 The second play of the school year, pro- duced on December Tl-12, was The Hangman's Noose, a mystery play. A haunted house, a dus- ty library, a secret passage, and a ghost not yet dead, were all a part of the plot. Mystery story writer Caroline Keating invited her assort- ed relatives to the reading of her will in an attempt to find the murderer of her brother. Thinking Caroline is dead, her greedy rel- atives came in hopes of inheriting a diamond necklace. Under the direction of Keep, the law- yer, and Martha, the maid, each was to spend five minutes alone in a room before they could receive their inheritance. During this time, Keep and Martha were stabbed and the murderer revealed himself to Polly. As he was about to kill her, Caroline appeared. In an attempt to escape, Henry Gordon fell on his knife and killed himself. I? I
