The Payson High Band with its fine group of instrumentalists has proven that they are an exceptionally well coordinate group. The band under the direction of J. D. Christensen has competed in various music festivals and marching contests where they have proven to be well instructed. The Payson High Band was rated high in the festivals held at Springville in which many members participated in competition as soloists, small group numbers and precision marching. A drive for new uniforms has topped the bands activities and it is hoped they will have them for use next year. J. D. Christensen also directed the pep band and orchestra that played on the exchange and pep assemblies.

They have all worked hard to make this year one that we will all remember. Their outstanding ability to plan and lead has shown up in the way they planned and helped put over the annual sophomore Carnvial Dance. It was one of the outstanding dances of the year. Credit for this successful leadership should go to Tony Christensen, president, Douglas Palmer, vice-president, Murial Dodds, secretary, and Lynn Stewart, rep. -52..
