' I fa I .g 1. l ' i Q W l. fe I4 J-Y, il- - ' 4 The Past Thlrteen years ago two large doors opened and elghteen small frys walked xnto the old gym of P H S and became students of our kxndergarten teachcx 'vlrs Pxerce .lust a l1ttle note but we met her agaxn ln the second grade By the time we reached the slxth grade we had really left a name for ou1 selves The hlgh school teachers were ready and waltmg dressed lxke Klng Arthur wxth hxs sword and shxeld of armor Of those who were speclally dress tl for the occaslon were our new prmclpal and supermtendent Mr Hough and M Thompson We fmally reached the half way mark of maturlty and became part of tht Jumor Hlgh The Warden Shlfted so many guards around durmg thls tlme tha he fmally had to lower the boom Well you can guess the next step yep thats rlght 1n1t1at1on Sxxty one gree 1 f eshmen were be1ng slapped llghtly on the back From that day through all four years xn h1gh school began an unendless strung of act1v1t1es Of these w take great prlde xn our Junlor Class Play A Young Mans Fancy Yes we surely have some good memornes to look back upon whem our ha1r starts turnlng grey Now after all those years of work and play we find once more that those same doors are open only thxs tlme thlrty s1x Senlors of 1951 are walklng out The Future The graduatlon class of 1951 recently held a reunxon at the recently completed vnanslon of the Presldent of the Paynesvxlle State College Mr Merel Hough Mr Hough was the class advisor The contractor of the mansxon was none other than Wesley Boehl who retlred upon completion of the project Dorothy Ellason the reglstrar ot the college was present as well as the Noll twlns who work 1n her office Jeanette Schmldt head of the Engllsh Depart ment and Frances Helnrlch head of the Elementary Educatlon Department were the mam speakers Musxc was furnlshed by the college band under the able dxrectlon of Rlta Grxsmer and the college cholr under the dlrectxon of Frxtz Waldorf Mary Chrls tensen was the cho1r accompamst wlth permxsslon from the Muslclans Unlon Lo cal No 243 of New London Kenny Nathe flew ln from h1s New York executxve offlce of Kennys Kake Kompany Enroute Cleo Dangubeck the airplane stewardess was at h1s servxce When he stepped out of the plane who dld he see but Herble Stmton st1ll tryxng to get his rocket off to the moon He got the rocket off the ground once but wa 'zmazed when he dlscovered he wasnt ln xt Parents were urged to brmg thelr chlldren so who we once knew as Katle Koepp and Beatrlce Jenkmson brought a whole troop of Campfxre G1rls Jlm Muggh presldent of the new modern Roscoe bank drove up ln a new Cadlllac chauffeured by Melvln Driver only to collxde wlth Harold Knutson presldent of the F1rst State Bank ln Paynesvllle Jerome Mackedanz and LeRoy Jonas arrlved from Alcatraz where they are head wardens Wanda Custer Florence Boehl and Joan Llestman arrxved late havmg had trouble fxndxng someone to take over thelr chaln of beauty shops The Three Glggles Mary Reamer CMrs Farmerette of Amerlcal was not able to be present due to a natlonwlde tour but sent a message w1th her brother ln law Charle Chesness who IS the worlds rlchest hog farmer On the last day of the reumon there was a specxal basketball game between the New York and Chlcago Professlonal teams Maynard Wood IS captaxn of the New York team where Vernxe Topp IS center Larry Hames IS captaxn of the Chxcago team and John Schultz still guards the water bottle Between halve entertalnment was furnxshed by two notorlous woman wrestlers Bernette Bau man and Beverly Anderson All m all the reunxon was a success and the class of 1951 IS really gomg places . . , , 3, , . .
