Senior Class History Now that we are ending our high school life, we look back through our happy years and think of everything. Way back in the year of 1939 this class of students began their first year of school. We now have four of the original students that started to school here in Paxton, they are: Catherine Bricker, Joyce Holmstedt, Majel Cunningham, and Gene Krab. When we entered our first year of high school as freshmen, we had an enrollment of 20 students. Shortly after the first semester was up Elden Harms dropped out, which made an enrollment of 19 students at the end of the year. Mr. Paden was our class sponsor when we were little Freshies. At the beginning of our Sophomore year, Mary Lee Quinby, and Robert Compton moved and Clark Herstedt entered so we had an enroll- ment of 18 students. At the end of the first six weeks Louise Chapman dropped out. After the first semester Hank McDonald enrolled in our school but he was only here about a week before he dropped out again. At the end of the year We had an enrollment of 17 students. Miss Cum- mings was our class sponsor. Before school started for our Junior year Frances Birt and Doreen Steuhm moved and Jonathan Williams came here, so when school opened we had an enrollment of 16 students. About the middle of the year Johnathan Williams moved. When school closed we had an enrollment of 15 students. Our Junior year was a very busy year for us. We held the Junior- Senior-Banquet and Prom in May. Mr. O'Gara and Mr. Bailey were our sponsors. We also put on the play, Custer's Last Stand. After all these years of school our Senior year finally rolled around. At the opening of this year Clark Herstedt dropped out and Mary Lou Coleman entered which made our enrollment 15. During the first half of this year Duane Buss entered. Our class play, which we put on in April was, OurfGa1 Sal. When school closed for our last year our enrollment was 16. Now we are out and these happenings are only memories. 10 i
