Mrs. Mary Anne Beer retired this June after 19 years at Paxton High School. She graduated from the University of Illinois as a James Scholar in the June of 1970. She started teaching at Paxton in the fall of that year — teaching English. She established the English Literature Club in 1970 which continued under her leadership until 1975. As advisor of this club, she sponsored two trips to England and held Madrigal dinner festivals. She received her Master of Science degree in Library Science also from the University of Illinois and became the PHS librarian in the fall of 1977. The 1988 Reflector Staff would like to dedicate this yearbook to Mrs. Beer, and to say, “Thank you, for all you have done. 3
