kel. The popular sixties movie “The Hustler” was remembered with the sequel “The Color of Money.” Our present decade has become a decade of individualism by mixing fads, fashions, and the music of this time. Homecoming’s Spirit Week was made up of five Spirit Days. Monday was Punk Day, Tuesday was Hats, Shades, Ties, and Buttons Day, Wednesday was Fifties Sixties Day, Thursday was Dress-as-Your-Favorite-Teacher Day, and Friday was Blue-and-Gold Day. Students and teachers alike dressed to show their spirit for all five days. Another Spirit Week activity was the first annual PHS Olympics which was held Monday through Friday during the lunch hours. Olympians competed in such categories as the Ping Pong Free Throw, the Pillowcase Race, and the Three-Legged Race. First place winners were Tim Harrison and Damjan Ron-cevich. THIS is NOW 5

The theme for this yearbook is “That was Then; This is Now”. This is somewhat appropriate for 1987. In the fifties, there were poodle skirts, bobby socks, the ducktaii, and the fiat top. THE GAME On Friday, September 26, 1986, The Paxton Mustangs clashed with the Tuscola Warriors in The Bax-ton homecoming bout. The weather was good and lots of fans turned out to see the game. Offensively, Paxton struggled for the whole game, while defensively, the Mustangs played well, only giving up a few big plays. The Warriors’ minds were set on defeating the Mustangs just as Paxton had done to them one year before. Just as it seemed that the Mustangs were going to come back in the second half, 1-57 Stadium’s entire lighting system failed, dampening the hopes of the Mighty Mustangs. After fifteen minutes, the problem was corrected and the two teams resumed play. The Warriors were successful in defeating the Mustangs. The final score was 19-0.
