speech, Danish Youth for Understanding Student, Soeren vid Stein gave a special talk about how he found American life to be so far. Following Soeren’s speech, Student-Council President, Damjan Roncevich announced the Homecoming Court and the Float Place-Winners. Becky Litwiller, the 1985 Homecoming Queen was unable to attend so Jennifer Wolf, the 1984 Homecoming Queen had the honor of crowning Julie Reber our 1986 Homecoming Queen. The seniors were awarded first place in the Float-Contest with their chicken wire and toilet paper rendition of “The Gong Show.” They were followed by the second place sophomores, third place freshmen, and fourth place juniors. THE PARADE This year’s Homecoming parade was held Thursday, September 25, 1986. Many townspeople attended the event. The parade had a new flavor added to it this year. Homecoming Queens from as far back as 1940 participated in it. There were two mother-daughter combinations; Julie Reber and her mother, Pam Hartley-Reber, who was Paxton’s Queen in 1961, and Debbi Short and her mother, Connie Burkland-Short, who was crowned Homecoming Queen in 1964. The parade was followed by the traditional pep rally and bonfire.
