The tennis program is still young, but it has gotten a fantastic start. The man behind its success is Mr. Tom Tennis: Front row: Steve Douglas, David VanderWaal. Brad Adams. Tom Dimond. Back row: Tom Johnson, Kevin Stone, Steve Sypult. Roger McFarland. Dan Rust, Mr. Diver (coach). Diver, the coach. He spends long hours doing various jobs from working on the courts to teaching boys and girls the proper strokes for winning tennis. The team registered a 5-4 record, which is great since they play schools such as Champaign Centennial, Normal U-High, Rantoul, and Kankakee Eastridge. The golf program was headed by Randy Johnson. Their home course was Lakeview Country Club. Their top players were underclassmen, so they will be on the course another year. A major remodeling of the baseball field is under way. Pat Prina, baseball coach, is running the project. He is also putting long hours into his work. He hopes to produce a winning baseball team. 26
